Facilities

With the grace of God, Star UMC has facilities (Sanctuary, Fellowship Hall, Playground outside, and more than five classrooms) available. We will be pleased to share our place with our members and neighbors!

Facilities Use Guidelines

(General)

    • NO CONSUMPTION OR USE OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES IS ALLOWED IN THE BUILDINGS OR ON THE PROPERTY.
    • Reservations/scheduling: All meetings and activities other than regularly scheduled meetings shall be cleared through the pastor at least two weeks prior to the event.
    • Preparations for meetings and activities: Persons using the building are responsible for any preparations necessary prior to the event.  Furniture arrangements are to be placed as originally found.  Cleaning after use must be completed before leaving the facility.

  • (Sanctuary)
    • Altar and baptismal font in the chancel area may be relocated within the chancel but not moved outside the chancel area.
    • Pulpit and chairs may be moved if necessary based on need.
    • Other furniture, pews, or choir area may be moved by permission of the pastor only.
    • Use of Church Equipment:
      • Use of equipment:
        • Tables and chairs may be used by church members and Sunday School members if they are signed out by a responsible adult and must be returned promptly to their place in the facility.
        • Office equipment should be used only by designated individuals.
        • Electrical equipment such as audio and video equipment cannot be taken from the church facility.
Star UMC Sanctuary

(Use of Church Buildings)

          • Any room may be used by church members by making appropriate arrangements with the pastor.
          • Liability for Damage: Anyone using the facility will be responsible for any breakage, destruction, or missing property. Nails, tacks, or other defacing articles cannot be used in decorating or in room arrangements
          • Defacing Church Property: Tacks, nails, tapes or other defacing articles cannot be used on church furniture or walls. Bulletin boards are provided.

CHECKLIST:  Before leaving the facility make sure to:

  • Vacuum carpet – if this part of the facility has been used
  • Clean the floors by sweeping and/or mopping.
  • Check the bathrooms and assure that they are clean
  • Clean the tables
  • Do Not leave food in the kitchen on the counters or in the refrigerator or freezer.
  • Empty all trash cans, in the kitchen, fellowship hall and bathrooms where appropriate.
